WELCOME TO OLY PLY CITIES (OPC)!

VISION

Imagine all 63 (as of 2026) host cities of the Olympic, Paralympic, & Youth Games relighting real and proxy flames in a global, unified, synchronized, and highly symbolic gesture of peace and solidarity on the eve of each new Olympiad (kicking off at LA 2028). •  To this add on-the-ground local events and programs developed with local PEACE partners promoting the core ideals and values of the Games  (peaceful engagement through sport) to youth and others. •  Then imagine the entire effort led by athletes and other inspired local stakeholders working together to keep the Spirit of the Games alive, long after the competitions end and the Games move on. * This the essence of OLY PLY CITIES. 

MISSION

Engage and empower Host City athletes and stakeholders.  •  Create a brand-new Olympic & Paralympic tradition promoting the essential PEACE mission of the Games  •  Showcase each Host City’s unique traditions, experiences, and hallowed grounds -- uniting all Cities globally as enduring platforms of peace.

TACTICS

Create Host City Teams of inspired local stakeholders (see diagram below) making on-boarding simple and easy.  •  Host City Teams are athlete-led and implement a basic participation level ('CORE Program' - see below) which includes (re)lighting a real or proxy flame of the Games •  Add extra events and activities based on local interests, needs, and resources. •  Develop Regional Organizing Committee to encourage Host City involvement.
